Don't expect so much from here. This is just sea food shopping center + a few casual restaurants. This is not as good as advertised.
No, sorry I don't
At of this date, they open from 12 noon and close at 4 pm. A bit later in the season, they open earlier and close later.
Uber doesn't work on Halifax, but you can take the bus and is really good, you just only need to take one that takes you to bridge terminal and after that the 60 or... You could ask someone for directions, anyway it is easy to get there
Hi Sandeep, thank you for the inquiry. Fisherman's Cove is open year round for visitors. Some shops stay open and some close late December. Most are open on the weekends from noon to 4pm. Also, starting Nov 22 to Dec 20 the shops will also be open Thursday nights from 5pm - 9pm for Shopping under the Stars. On Nov 24 we will also be hosting our annual Christmas Craft Fair from 10am - 4pm. Hope to see you there!
Hello Lyne, we do have several picnic tables dispersed around the cove. Hope you can come visit us soon!
Thank you for your response Michelle. The one spot you talk about makes it not fully accessible for wheelchair users and strollers. I look forward to seeing the finished product in the near future. The area I'm speaking about is just to the left of Boondocks, just past the information centre and memorial. I makes it quite difficult to manover the gravel in a wheelchair without assistance and for anyone pushing a stroller.
Yes. Route 60
Beautiful area with beaches, ferries, rentals for activities and many shops and eateries. Definitely recommend visiting this area I'd you are in Halifax and want to slow things down and enjoy a more casual atmosphere. Area is well kept and clean and there is an information building with washrooms giving you everything you can find, or you can walk the area which is more friendly for pedestrians than cars. Parking at the beach is highly recommended.
Offer free Wi-Fi with a nice calm harbour view , priceless. Relaxing. Public parking. Over night wifi (cant get wifi just anywheres in the middle of the night)
Was nice to be able to come to Dartmouth had be away ten years
A great spot for a stroll. The old fashioned boardwalk has gift shops and restaurants theming with the fishing culture and pirate fashion. The sandy beach and wetland offers kids a natural playground.
Beautiful location for a short stroll, a long walk (at the beach park), an all-day visit, shopping, getting a bite to eat, buying fresh seafood or just enjoying the beautiful view.
Its too bad it's closed in the winter but come spring it's a great little place to visit with the small shops with local gifts and good food. Take a stroll and walk the boardwalk and enjoy the shops and food
Not intresting for us from Toronto. We thought there is a good place to enjoy the old view of the boats and fishers but it was not. We even could not take a good photo. Maybe good for the local people. Not recommended to visit unless there is some improvement.
Small but sandy beach - it's a great spot to wade or take in the ocean. The area has a great boardwalk and is littered with small shops and places to eat. It feels far out of the city despite being able to get there relatively easily by bus.
I love taking photos here, it's a great spot to eat too!
Such a beautiful place, words can't quite capture how quaint and peaceful it is. A must see!
Because they have a beautiful view and the people are great. The stores r also nice to go in. It is all around great place
Had amazing ice cream in little store at the end. Definitely would like to come back and explore more.
Such a cool place! Love all the small shops & set up.
A great place to stop and learn the heritage of fisherman's cove. You can also buy a t-shirt or freshen up in the public washroom.
Fisherman's cove is an awesome place I go there alot with friends and family for ice cream and the beach. It's really fun
Rustic still active fishing village. Good seafood. Walk to beach & boardwalk.
Although it hasn't been updated, it is always an interesting quick free stop 😊
Adorable little fishing village along the Marine Drive scenic drive near Dartmouth. It's hard to remember you're near the city once you stop by for a visit. Quaint little locally-owned shops selling east coast wares and plenty of food options. Beautiful boardwalk nearby and excellent views of the ocean and the downtown core from this place.
What a good place to go in the summertime.
Scenic place to enjoy your evening. Fairly good hiking trail.... Ocean water didn't look that clean...
Grandfather got grant to get this little fishing village and shacks all re done to turn it into what it is today. Beautiful.
Always a must stop when I visit my aunt and uncle. Love going there, a little shopping and a great lunch. The shops are unique and amazing finds. What makes me feel good is all of their goods are made locally, be by amazing young kids. Can't think of a better reason to shop there😍
A lot of stores didnt open...came in the wrong time
Quaint village with some good artisan shops. Nice walk along the boardwalk with good views of Halifax from the Dartmouth side. Ice cream was really good!
We enjoyed our souvenir shopping here! Bought our dogs collar with maritime patterns, a carved chainsaw puffin & handmade NS artisan soaps!
Very unique little shops to buy handmade items (whale tail hooks, glass dream catchers, paintings, jewelry and more!) and it's not very expensive. Not always open yr round, so check before going.
Love this place especially Preserving Traditions..Boondocks and Joe's Candy Shoppe; but the management running this group of shops is biased, and is going to run this place into the ground. The best shops they have they are getting rid of in any manner they can. If they don't like you they will put you out!!
Great place for a walk ... Lots of great shops and interesting places to see ... Ice cream as well as the taxi to McNabs island.
Very quaint village, touristy but best ice cream ever!
Awesome maritime place to visit
Fishing then grab a treat or two. Maybe hand pick a lobster and watch them cook it up for ya. Locals are awesome people to talk to if not from the area
I feel that it is over rated. It's a small area with just shops and tourists. It stated that it is an old fishing village from the 1800s but I did not get that particular feel. It does not compare to Peggy's Cove or Lunnenburg. Prices are also high.
Good food, affordable shopping and beautiful board walk with beach....what more could you ask for?
A good place to relax or do some exercise and have a bite to eat there is a few restaurant's there some coffee shops and alot of gift shops there you can buy fresh seafood there too so there is a little something for everyone there.
This is such a wonderful place to visit. There are many small shops, some of which are closed in the winter, but there are two shops that stay open in the winter. One of them is a place called "Coffee Tea & Sea", of which I have a few pictures of, and the other is a gift shop. Wonderful and welcoming people is who you see there. I very highly recommend this area to everyone.
Really nice place to bring a family. Cute shops filled with neat stuff and nice restaurants around. There's also a really nice board walk which is nice to walk on after supper as the sun is setting. Everyone there is really friendly (obviously because it's the maritimes) and I go there every year with my family. Definitely a good place to get some maritime-type gifts for family or friends.
Beautiful and fun, loved the energy of the place and it has two lovely restaurants and other stores to entertain you 😊 A must go for locals visitors alike.😁
Great tourist area with many shops and places to eat. The Boardwalk is nice on a sunny day, quick 10 minute walk with nice views of the passage. The Boardwalk is in need of upkeep, it is showing its age but is overall well kept and tidy. Boondocks is a great place to eat with seafood offerings and traditional pub fare as well.
Amazing part of Nova Scotia. Outstanding friendliness
Such an easy drive from Halifax and what a fun place to visit! The shops are adorable, with so many unique items and the staff are so friendly! The board walk is great for all ages. The beach is near by for a stroll and for beach combing but not a great place to swim. We didn’t go to the restaurant but it was very busy when we were there in September. We will definitely be coming back to do some Christmas shopping.
Great place to take a walk by the harbour and do a little tourist shopping with some local crafts available. You can also get a bite to eat, buy some fresh fish or just relax on a bench to enjoy the sunshine as you people watch. Friendly people everywhere you turn. Also washrooms available!!
Fabulous part of Dartmouth, sandy oasis full of nature. Boarded walks and picturesque walking paradise!
Very clean interesting great place to visit. Try the food outlets awesome.
Beautiful waterfront boardwalk, lots of cool little shops and snack huts.
Great place sadly arrived a bit late but enjoyed it definently going back
Fisherman’s Cove in Eastern Passage is a great hidden gem of a spot in Halifax. There are quite a few stores selling local art. Also several choices for eating. On a hot day like today, you can’t go wrong with an ice cream. If you are in the area mid-August, go down for the annual Tallahassee Days to celebrate being a pirate or mermaid princess.
Fisherman's Cove is one of most popular places in the city, for good reason. Today was the official opening for the season and it was lovely. Perfect weather for walking the boardwalks and exploring the many new shops. It's easy to spend an entire afternoon here and still not see everything. The food available is excellent, as well.
Such great shops and so quaint with brightly painted little buildings. A wonderful place to purchase unique gifts, take a walk on the boardwalk or grab a bite from the local merchants and restaurants. A great place for dogs as well. Once you've visited you cannot stop thinking about returning.
Can't wait to come back and experience it when everything is open. The coffee tea and sea shop owner was very helpful in the goings-on of the area and was one of only 3 establishments open at this time of year. We shall return!
Came to paint and i enjoyed my stay. The beach looks inviting and there is a good selection of tourist shops and actual fishing businesses. Will be returning.
